Exodus Chapter 30
May Our Lives be a Sweet Aroma to the Lord.
Instructions are given on building an altar for incense. On this altar, there are to be continual incense burning before the Lord so that it becomes a sweet aroma to him. So our lives are to be an ongoing sweet aroma to the Lord. The priest were to wash their hands and feet and anoint themselves with oil so as to be holy before God. To neglect this process meant they would die when in the presence of the Lord. Holiness is the key for capturing the heart of the Lord. May we be filled with the Holy Spirit and cover ourselves, not with water and anointing oil, but with the living Word of God so that our lives are kept holy before the Lord.
