Exodus Chapter 26
The Veil That Was Torn.
In this chapter God gives more descriptions when it comes to building the Tabernacle and its accessories. One of the accessories is the making of the veil that is to be placed between the holy place and the holy of holy place. The holy of holy place is where God dwells and only the priests could enter if the priest was cleansed and a sacrifice of an animal was made for the Forgiveness of sins. No one could enter into the presence of God without being cleansed from sins. If a priest entered into the holy of holy place without being cleansed, he would die.
When Jesus died on the cross, it’s this veil that was torn into 2 pieces. It signified that we could now all enter into the presence of God by faith in Christ Jesus who shed his blood, once and for all, for the Forgiveness of our sins. Anyone who tries to get to God apart from Jesus will die in their sins. Praise be to God that we can have a relationship with him through Jesus and live forever when we leave this earth.
