Exodus Chapter 24
A Mountain Top Experience.
70 plus men of leadership have an encounter with the Lord at the base of Mount Sinai. Then they share the words of the Lord to all the Israelites. And all the people declare they will do and obey what the Lord has said.
They have a mountain top experience. When is the last time you had a mountaintop experience with the Lord? Do you remember? Perhaps it was at church, a retreat, or a special event. Regardless, it’s something we remember and even have shared with others. I pray these Mountain top experiences can be events of Our Lives that help keep us faithful to the Lord. May we not be so quick to forget the God we serve when painful or unfortunate events occur later in our lives. Think of a mountaintop experience you’ve had with the Lord and how it impacted your life spiritually, and how you declared your allegiance to the Lord! Has that worn off? Is your faith still strong? Or have things happened in your life recently resulting in you forgetting all the Lord has said and done for you? If so, he’s lovingly waiting for you to return.
