What In The World Are You Doing?
Once again God addresses issues that are still important for us today. The issues that he addresses we would take for granted that they are sinful and disgusting. However, today’s society has allowed such sin to seem harmless and even acceptable. For example: a thief is to be held accountable and even make restitution, but today in certain States or districts, stealing is no longer considered a crime. How can this be?
Sex with animals was a horrific sin, but today it’s become acceptable. How do we let ourselves get this far?
Equally so, the Israelites were told to respect strangers, widows, and orphans. In fact, we are told to love our enemies and do good to those who mistreat us.
It’s easy to look at the thief or the person having sex with an animal and say how disgusting that is. But does God not see our evil hearts when we neglect those around us who are in need of love, and we show hate towards somebody who wronged us. Is that not also disgusting in the eyes of the Lord. It’s easy to look down on unholiness when it’s somebody else, but perhaps we should look to our own lives first before we begin to judge others. God help me to be holy in every area and not just the “disgusting” areas!
