Exodus Chapter 2
The Heart Of A Child.
Moses was born and after 3 months his mother could not hide him anymore from the Egyptians, who would kill him upon sight. So the mother put Moses in a basket and sent him down the Nile. The sister followed along the bank of the Nile to see what would happen to her little brother. The sister was full of love and concern and compassion for the baby brother. Pharaoh’s daughter saw the baby and took him in. The sister quickly spoke up and said I can get someone to nurse the baby for you. So she got the mother of Moses and she nursed him until the baby could be weaned from her and then handed over to Pharaoh’s daughter.
Try and grasp the heart of the sister to Moses. She was truly concerned for her baby brother and was quick to speak up and suggest getting a nurse for the baby.
Oh, to have the heart of a child who sees and wants very much to help. A child’s heart is so innocent. Sadly, many grow up and their hearts become polluted by a corrupted world. What does our heart look like? Compassion? Love? Concern? Or are we too busy to role model such behaviors to our children or others? What do we teach or model for those around us? May God’s light of Love, Compassion, and Concern shine through us and on to others.
