Exodus chapter 17
We Have To Be A Team!
As the Israelites are traveling under God’s leadership, the Amalekites attack them in war. I see this chapter as an example of recognizing we are a team, the body of Christ, and we need to work together through the oppositions, temptations, and battles that come before us.
During the battle, Moses held his arms up in the air towards the Lord with his staff. As long as the arms were raised to the Lord, the Israelites would be defeating the enemy. But when his arms dropped down from the Lord, they would be losing the battle. So Aaron and Hur kept his arms up so victory came to the Israelites.
This is a reminder that as a body of Christ, our focus must always be on the Lord and we must work together as a team in order to accomplish what God wants to do. Once we lose focus of the Lord and quit working together, is the moment we put ourselves at risk of being self-reliant or distracted from the things of this world. It’s the moment we allow Satan to get a foothold in our battles.
1. We must stay focused on the Lord and
2. Work together as one body, helping and encouraging one another.
