Exodus Chapter 11
There’s True Freedom in Christ.
God announces to Pharaoh that the last plague will be horrific: The killing of the the firstborn of every family and animal in Egypt. But Pharaoh’s heart is hardened.
In fact, several Egyptians have already grown to respect Moses and wants to see the Israelites leave immediately because their land and people have suffered greatly.
It makes me think of situations when a person feels trapped in a godless life, resulting in making bad decisions. They have the option to follow Christ and obey him, but they feel trapped in a lifestyle that has controlled them for so many years. So they never escaped the consequences of their decisions. But Christ came to give us life and a life of abundance (John 10:10). He has made us more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). We can escape any holds the devil has put on us for greater is he who lives within us than he who lives in the world (I John 4:4).
What decisions are you making in the world today? Do you feel trapped? Surrender it to Christ and let him make you a conqueror over that which has entrapped you. Sometimes his answer comes over time but keep being persistent and you’ll finally find that long-awaited freedom you have hoped for.
