Exodus Chapter 10
Humble Yourself Or Suffer The Consequences!
The next two plagues that came over Egypt were:
1. Locust covering all the land of Egypt. This is significant because the Egyptians saw locust as a means of punishment from their god’s.
2. Darkness over the Earth for 3 days and nights. This too was significant because they felt their sun god was angry with them.
During this time, Pharaoh’s servant said to Pharaoh to please let the Israelites go because Egypt was destroyed. We see Pharaoh beginning to be open to letting them go but his heart was still hardened.
Moses had said to Pharaoh a word from the Lord, “How long will you refuse to humble yourself before God? Let My people go.”
1 Peter 5:6 says to humble oneself under the mighty hand of God.
James 4:7-8 says to submit ourselves before the Lord and when we do God responds. When we don’t there are ugly consequences.
To remove humility or surrender or submission before God is to open the door to our hearts to sin in this world.
Don’t let God’s spirit have to say, “How long will you refuse to humble yourself before God?” Refusing to do so only sets yourself up to fail, as Pharaoh did.
