Do Not Bear False Witness Against Your Neighbor.
Commandment #9:
The Hebrew word for “False Witness” means any type of lie or deception. The Hebrew word for “Neighbor” means ANYONE including the person you love the most all the way down to your worst enemy.
In essence, we are called to be a person of integrity and not get caught up in retaliation. If someone wrongs us, then we have the temptation of saying a lie about them, or partial truths, in order to make them look worse than us. Speak truth always so if you get confronted, you cannot be wrongly accused for lying or deceiving. And if need be, go to the person who has wronged you and take care of the situation.
CHALLENGE: What can you say nice about someone today that has wronged you? It could be something you say to the person, or something nice about the person said to another individual. Our words can be words of healing or words of destruction. Choose wisely!
