Esther Chapter 2
What Is God Up To?
After King Ahaserus removed Vashti as Queen, he began the process of finding a new Queen which took about a year. Many beautiful virgin women were gathered and prepared to see the king who would eventually choose who he would want as the new Queen.
Esther was chosen as the new queen. She was a Jew but used her Persian name, Esther, because Jews were usually looked down upon. She was raised by her cousin Mordecai who was a man of integrity and taught Esther to be a woman of integrity. During the process of electing a new Queen, two officials of the king were plotting to kill him. Thanks to Mordecai, the king found out and had the two men killed. The details of this incident were written in the Book of the Chronicles.
As you read all the facts of chapter 2, you may think nothing of it, yet all the details I just mentioned play a part in the big plan God has later in life which will eventually unfold.
It’s no different than with our lives. We look at our daily events, good and bad, and see them through our eyes as they relate to today, not realizing that what’s happening today, will actually play a part in revealing God’s bigger plan down the road.
Don’t limit God. Keep him number one and keep seeking him with all your heart and see how God’s plans begin to unfold before your very eyes. He will use people and events of your past to get where he wants you today or tomorrow.
