Esther Chapter 10
Life Is Not Just About Me.
The last chapter of Esther is only three verses long. They speak of Mordecai’s greatness as the King’s number one man. He had many accomplishments. It speaks of how he found favor with the king, with the Jews, and with the non-Jews. Why? Because it says he “sought the good of his people,” meaning the Jews; Plus he “spoke for the welfare of his whole nation,” meaning everyone including the non-Jews.
The key to being great in life is not in the position you hold, or the power you have, or how much money you possess. Greatness is defined on how many people’s lives you impact for the kingdom. And to be successful in this area means you have the ability to look out for the good of those around you versus trying to make it ALWAYS all about you. Think how differently life would be if we listened more to what others had to say versus expecting them to hear our complaints all the time.
CHALLENGE: Don’t complain to anybody today about how bad you have it. Be one who looks out for others.
– Encourage someone today.
– Listen to someone today.
– Pray for someone today.
– Help someone today.
You be that for others and they’re going to think you’re pretty great! And so will the Lord!
