Am I Being Deceived On How I’m To Live My Christian Walk?
Paul instructs us to follow God’s example with our faith walk, and love must be the key ingredient.
Love should be so important to us that it:
1. Drives us to love to the point that we’re even willing to give up our life for the Gospel and others.
2. Drives us to repent of all sins and quit acting like the world. This includes any type of sexual activity. God instructs us to not practice any kind of impurity, greed, and foolish obscenity talk. In fact, God says that people who act this way will not enter the kingdom of heaven. God follows this comment with the words don’t be deceived
Did you hear that? It is easy to push such thoughts to the side. Our Christian minds want to focus on a “loving” God as if he doesn’t care what we do in our walk. When in fact, God does care and warns us to not be deceived. A holy and pure life is essential for a Christian to pursue. We should never get LAX or complacent in our Christian walk.
Our culture doesn’t think like this! We can’t allow ourselves to get sucked into our culture’s thought process. We are to be people who love but also to be people who do not conform to the pattern of this world. We are to be set apart in love
How are you doing in this area?
It seems so easy to get caught up in the mindset that Paul addresses in Romans 6:15-16, but Paul again restates that “God forbid” that we live in sin, just because we have a loving God. Rather, we belong to whom we serve, either in sin to death, or of obedience unto His righteousness. What a convicting passage to cause evaluation of how I am living my life for Christ!
