Ephesians Chapter 2

Salvation by God’s Grace and Through Our Faith in JESUS.

This is a popular “go to” chapter when leading someone to Christ. It sets the tone that Salvation doesn’t come from being a good person at all.

Because Adam and Eve sinned, death entered this world. Death for our body and death for our soul. We all took on a sin nature and we are all condemned to hell for eternity. But because of God’s great love and mercy for us, he provided life with forgiveness through Christ. It’s by God’s grace for us, through our faith in Jesus, that we are able to be forgiven and be united back into a relationship with the Lord both now and forever in heaven.

God makes it clear that it is NEVER by being good enough. We can never be good enough to get into heaven. Once we have Christ into our lives THEN it is God’s plan and intention for us to be good people. When Christ is in our life THEN it is God’s plan for us to be holy and full of good works, not so that we can be saved but as evidence that we are saved through Christ.

God wants to use every believer in Christ through our good works and through our God-given gifts. How is God using you today? Are you striving to be a holy Temple for him to dwell in and use?

Remember, good works aren’t so you can be saved but good works are evidence that you are saved. Don’t get the two mixed up.
