Ecclesiastes Chapter 6
Joy, Now And Forever!
King Solomon is frustrated over the fact that some are blessed by God with so much wealth, possessions, and honor, yet they never get to enjoy their prosperity. He calls this meaningless. He says a person works so hard and then goes to the grave. What was their enjoyment?
People live their life and want to be happy and have joy. I get it. So do I. But how are people defining happy and joy? If happy and joy is based solely on one’s life on this Earth, then life will be a big disappointment because people struggle in life. Obstacles occur often. Jesus said in this world we will have troubles, but take heart because he has overcome this world. God, in the meantime has provided us a new life in Christ and with that comes Joy. This Joy we can experience now on Earth and in Heaven. Joy is a beautiful gift that we can experience every season of our life, no matter what we are going through. The joy of the Lord gives us hope in all circumstances, good and bad. We can rejoice even in the worst of times because we know God’s promise of an eternal home awaits us who are in Christ.
