Deuteronomy Chapter 34
The Promised Land!
Moses, before his death, got to see the Promised Land that God was taking the Israelites into. But because Moses had disobeyed God on a given occasion so he was not permitted to enter into the Promised Land. He got to see it from a distance and then soon died and was buried. But, today, no one knows where that is.
His burial was some random place. You feel like it should have been some special place because of how much of a servant of the Lord he was. But, like Jesus, where he was buried, is not at all as important as what was Moses’s life like. His life we get to read about in the Scriptures. God called him the greatest prophet known. We see he was a great prophet of the Lord. Yes, he wasn’t perfect, but his life in general was committed to the Lord and when he died he got to enter into an even greater Promised Land – HEAVEN!
My question isn’t, “Are you perfect?” For no one is perfect and all make mistakes. My question is, “Are you a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ? ” Is that your heart’s desire, to follow Him? Yes, you’ll make mistakes along the way, but God offers forgiveness to those who seek it. But for the committed follower of Christ, you have a Promised Land awaiting you upon your death. It’s called HEAVEN. A much better place than Hell.
If today, you’re not a committed follower of Christ, let today be the start of that day.
