Deuteronomy Chapter 29
Do you KNOW God Relationally and Experientially?
Moses reminds the Israelites how God had let them wander in the wilderness for 40 years because of their disobedience to him. Although God was still with them and kept their clothes and sandals from wearing out for all 40 years. Nor did he let them eat bread or strong drink so they might KNOW that he is the Lord God. The Hebrew word for KNOW is yada. It means to KNOW God Relationally and Experientially.
God loves us and sometimes does miracles for us, or meets our needs in a way so as to show us his love and show us that he is the Lord God. His ultimate desire is that we would KNOW (yada) Him: not just with our minds but with our whole hearts which is demonstrated in our reciprocating this relationship. We invest our time into him and him into us. As a result of us pursuing this active relationship, we experience different aspects of God: his love, his meeting of our needs, his strength, his miracles, etc. which result into testimonies for others to hear and help point others to Christ as well.
God, help me to KNOW (yada) You – Relationally and Experientially.
