Deuteronomy Chapter 28
Have You Responded To God’s Call?
God declares that with obedience to his word comes his blessings. He says Israel’s enemies will see they are called by God and will fear them. The Hebrew word for CALLED is “qara” which is more than just a label put on a God follower. Being CALLED by God is to receive his full support, strength, power, wisdom, and guidance.
Once we respond to God’s call on our lives, then rejoice because you have received his Holy Spirit for action. Sitting around and calling one cell a Christian is not a response to God’s call. A response to God’s call is a response with action. Rejoice because your enemies will see God’s work in and through your life and will fear God. Some, out of fear, will respond with questions wanting to know more about the God we serve. Others will respect us although they may not agree with the God we serve. While others, because of being convicted, will attack us to escape the conviction within them.
Regardless, rejoice and stay faithful to the CALL (qara) God has on your life.
