Deuteronomy Chapter 27
Blessings or Curses!?!
God commanded that the Israelites keep the laws he gave them. When they enter the Promised Land they are to set up an altar of stone covered with lime and then they are to write distinctively the laws of God upon the rocks. Then they are to make sacrifices and offerings to the Lord.
Some priest are commanded to stand on a mountain giving blessings to the people as they enter the Promised Land while other priests are to stand on another mountain and proclaim the curses that will happen if they disobey God’s commands.
This is a great reminder that disobedience to God comes with consequences. And are faithfulness to the Lord results in blessing.
The ultimate curse is spending eternity in the place called hell and the ultimate blessing is spending eternity in heaven with the Lord God.
May we by faith put our trust in the work of Jesus Christ for the Forgiveness of our sins. Thank you Lord! Though I deserve hell, thank you for providing forgiveness through the work of Jesus Christ motivated by love. I have accepted his work by faith and I am committed to walking faithfully with you. When I fail, forgive me and help me to repent and stay faithful. Amen!
