Deuteronomy Chapter 22
Transgenderism
Deuteronomy 22:5 says that a woman shall not wear men’s clothing nor shall a man put on women’s clothing because if they do they have committed an abomination to the Lord God. Why is it an abomination (sin)?
1. If God creates a man with XY chromosomes, then he is a man by biological definition. To now try and identify oneself as a woman is to deny Gods gender call for your life. I should be proud of who I am and not try and change it. If I’m a certain race, I would not try and change that because I should be proud of the race I am.
2. Some struggle mentally to identify themselves as the gender they are. We must be very careful how we handle this situation. You can’t just tell somebody they are an abomination to God to win them over. If they truly are struggling mentally, then they truly need a friend to come along and encourage them into the truth. This could take time.
3. Today, however, we live in a society that encourages people to defy their gender and even brainwash them at a young age to change their gender. This is a scary thing and is an abomination to God. This messes with the minds of young kids and confuses them.
