Deuteronomy Chapter 20
Are You Going Into Battle? Listen To God’s Voice.
God instructed Israel that when they go into battle against their enemies, they were not to be afraid of them even when the enemies outnumber them in horses, chariots, and soldiers. God said he would give the victory.
As we pursue the Lord and the work he has called us to, we will always encounter obstacles. We will come across those who gossip and complain. They will be quick to be discouraged and show lack of faith. There will also be financial barriers.
Sometimes it will be wise to move slow and sometimes it’s important to trust God and step out in faith. Those who lack faith can be quick to discourage the rest of the team.
The important thing is, we must always be connected to the Lord so we can hear his voice over the voices of anyone else. Yes, it’s wise to hear what others have to say because God speaks through others, but ultimately we must listen to God’s Spirit over any circumstances or other voices. And we can do that as we are staying connected to the Lord.
