Deuteronomy Chapter 14
We are God’s Special Treasure!
God declares that we are his “Gullah” which is the Hebrew word meaning “Special Treasure”.
God values us more than we could ever know. If we really believe this, it would drive us to a life that is pleasing to him. God gives examples of how we can live our lives as Special Treasures:
1. We’re called to be Holy. The more we realize how much someone loves us, the more we want to love, respect, and obey them. It should be that way with the Lord.
2. Give thanks to the Lord by giving back to the Lord. The Israelites were asked to tithe a portion of their crops, their animals, and their money back to the Lord as a way of saying thank you. Perhaps we should learn from this and be willing to do the same.
3. God also emphasizes the importance of taking care of spiritual leaders, widows, orphans, and strangers.
Do you understand how much God values and treasures you?
1. Are you driven to a life of holiness?
2. Do you give back to the Lord some of your blessings as a way of saying thank you!!
3. Are you a blessing to your pastor, or to those who are struggling to care for themselves?
