Deuteronomy Chapter 12
Worship the Lord God, and HIM only!
God told the Israelites as they enter and possess new land from the enemies, they must destroy all the false gods. They were to set up a place to gather where they can worship the one and only true God. Plus they were to rejoice in this, and rejoice in everything they do before the Lord.
We too are to worship the Lord God, and HIM only. It can be done anywhere but GOD asks that we worship with our whole hearts. God does not wish that we share our heart and allegiance to any other person or thing. Everything we do should be done in the name of the Lord and anytime we do something for ourselves, for our glory (sports, relationships, activities, or events) then it has become our god. Be careful when this happens! Then everything we do, the sports, the relationships, the activities, and the events, will be done for the glory of God. We will want people to see Jesus in and through us no matter what we do or what relationship we are in.
