Deuteronomy Chapter 11
Be Willing To Acknowledge When One Is Unfaithful To God.
God continues to command that his followers love and obey him FAITHFULLY. He says that if they faithfully love him, serve him, and obey him with all their heart and soul, then God will bless them.
But God continually warns them to be careful lest they be enticed to worship false gods. To be faithful to God was to be blessed, but to be unfaithful was to receive his curse.
This reminds me of my relationship with Jesus. My faithfulness to the Lord Jesus results in blessings, with the greatest blessing being eternity in heaven. But being unfaithful to the Lord because of pursuing the things of this world, results in a curse with the greatest curse being eternity in the Lake of Fire.
We must, must, must be willing to acknowledge how easy it is to be enticed away from the Lord. It’s easy to become unfaithful and if we’re unwilling to acknowledge this, we set ourselves up for failure. Be faithful and realize that Satan is constantly enticing us to be unfaithful. Be careful! Don’t think it can’t happen to you.
