Colossians Chapter 2
I Could Use Some Encouragement.
Paul encourages those who have already received Jesus into their lives to continue to live their lives in Christ by:
1. Being rooted in Christ: in other words He is the foundation of our lives and we are so connected that it affects EVERY aspect of our lives. Let us look at every aspect of our lives and ask this question – “How have I made Jesus ruler of this area of my life?”
2. Be built up in Christ: which comes through the reading of God’s word whether it be personal devotions or the teachings of God’s word like in Sunday school and church.
3. Be strengthened in the faith: which comes with both a close relationship with Jesus and other believers. In other words, we need each other so we can encourage each other.
4. Be overflowing with thankfulness: God and others do so much for us yet we spend less time with a thankful heart and more time asking for more things. Let us stop and thank God for the blessings in our lives.
