Acts Chapter 9
The Church Continues to Grow
Saul from Tarsus was a great persecutor of the church. While on his way to Damascus he has an encounter with Jesus and later with Ananias resulting in his conversion to Christianity.
After Saul’s conversion he is filled with the Holy Spirit and meets with the very Christians he was going to persecute so they could mentor him.
Saul began to preach Jesus as the Son of God. This resulted in the church continuing to grow in numbers.
In the meantime, Peter is used by God to heal a paralyzed man and raise a dead woman back to life. Both events resulted in the increase of believers in Jesus.
Saul’s gifts were used to preach the good news of Jesus. Peter’s gifts were used as he also preached the good news of Jesus. God has given each of us specific gifts that he wants to use to impact lives while pointing people to Jesus. If each person let God use them and their gifts, the good news of Jesus would be preached everywhere. I am confident we’d see an increase in the numbers of people following and believing in Jesus.
