Acts Chapter 4
Be Bold and Courageous with your Faith!!!!!!
After Peter and John performed a miracle by healing a man in the name of Jesus, the religious leaders came up to Peter and John while they were speaking. They heard them speaking of Jesus and his resurrection from the dead.
They seized Peter and John and put them in jail overnight. In the morning the religious leaders questioned them. They asked by what power they healed the man? Peter said in the name of Jesus whom they crucified, but who God raised from the dead.
The religious leaders were amazed at their courage and astonished of the man’s healing. So they didn’t know what they could do to punish them. So they warned them not to speak any longer of the name of Jesus. I love Peter and John’s response. They said, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges. As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
They answered their question in a way to put it back on the religious leaders as a way of revealing their sin.
Peter and John went back to the people and shared what the religious leaders did and they immediately went to prayer. (Prayer should be what we all turn to when in need). They prayed for God’s power to speak boldly and do miraculous signs which God answered their prayer immediately. Plus they were meeting the needs of people. In fact people were selling their homes so they could give the money to help those in need.
My prayer is this: that God would annoint me with his power in order to speak his word boldly and in truth no matter what opposition comes my way. But also annoint me to do the ministry he has called me to so that people’s needs are being met. And may I be willing to give up any or everything in order to help others in their needs.
