Acts Chapter 25
The Drama Continues
The Jewish leaders want Paul dead and would love to have him on trial in Jerusalem so they can carry out a plot to have him killed. The governor wants to appease the Jewish leaders and have a trial there with Caesar the Roman leader present. But Paul says he should be before Caesar but not at Jerusalem but in Rome. Plus Paul says I am innocent of any charges for none can be proven against me. King Agrippa wants to hear Paul speak for he is intrigued by him. Festus wants to specify some kind of charges against Paul before sending him to Caesar in Rome. He hopes King Agrippa can determine what the charges are. Festus can’t see where Paul has done anything wrong especially deserving of death.
Drama occurs when people gossip about others in hopes of getting people to support them and hopefully dislike the other parties involved. Drama spends more time trying to get one self to look better than the other and less time on reconciliation, or less time disengaging from the gossip. If we’d spend more time on reconciliation and more time on not saying any gossip to anyone, we’d see a whole lot less drama. Next time there’s a dispute, watch yourself! Are You gossiping to others or trying to end the dispute just between you and the other party? Let’s strive to be like King Jesus versus trying to be the drama king or drama queen.
