Acts Chapter 2
A Growing Church.
On the day of Pentecost, Jews from all around gathered together for a week long festival celebrating the giving of the first five books of the Bible handed down from Moses. However, what was about to happen at Pentecost would take the focus off from the Old Testament and onto the New Covenant with the pouring out of God’s Spirit upon his believers.
When God’s Holy Spirit was poured out upon his apostles, Jews from many different nations heard the message of Jesus in their own language. As a result, 3,000 people got saved that day.
They became a unified body praying and reaching needs resulting into thousands of people being saved daily.
The start of the new and growing church was underway. Today, some Churches strive for unity with people working together to reach lost souls, resulting in having an impact in their communities. Sadly, many Christians are “too busy” to get involved in ministry. Reaching lost souls is not a priority. Thousands of people were getting saved each day at Pentecost. So when is the last time we shared Jesus with someone or prayed with someone to receive Jesus into their lives? I feel like I could do much better in this area. I don’t want to make excuses. I want to be more intentional and make myself daily available to the Lord to be used by him.
“God, how can you use me today to impact someone’s life for Jesus?”
