Acts Chapter 13
Are We Sent Out?
Some followers of Christ were together and while they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit spoke to them to send out Barnabas and Saul for the work God was calling them too. After they’re fast, they laid hands on Barnabas and Saul and sent them off.
As a follower of Christ we are all to be sent off. Just as Barnabas and Saul traveled and shared Jesus so we too, wherever God calls us, are to share the good news of Jesus. Who has prayed for us, or who is praying for us ss a way of acknowledging and confirming our call as a witness to the faith? I challenge you to ensure that someone is praying for you specifically as you daily share your faith.
As Barnabas and Saul traveled, many people believed and followed Jesus. Most of them were Gentiles, and several Jews opposed their message out of jealousy.
This is a natural type of response. We should expect some to receive our message of Hope, while expecting some to oppose it. Some will oppose it vehemently followed by persecution. Are you willing to be faithful to the call of the ministry of proclaiming Christ? Are you going to be faithful no matter what happens to you?
