Read John 10:40-42

Don’t Miss An Opportunity.

Vs. 40-42: “Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. There he stayed, and many people came to him. They said, ‘Though John never performed a sign, all that John said about this man was true.’ And in that place many people believed in Jesus.”

John had baptized many people and preached repentance for the forgiveness of sins and he preached Jesus as the coming Messiah. John was a huge blessing that God used to plant many seeds in the hearts of many people of the coming Savior. I can’t help but imagine what it must have been like for Jesus to go where John once preached about him. The people there got to see the real deal. Then to think of the hearts that were sparked, and the lives that were changed. The people remembered what was said about Jesus and in seeing Jesus, they believed in him. Fruit came from the seed that John planted.

This passage makes me think of the power of the body of Christ when they work together. God will call someone to plant a seed of Truth in the hearts of individuals. God will then call someone else to water that seed with more love and truth. Later, God will call someone else to minister to an individual or group of people and actually see fruit come from the encounter as they surrender their lives to the Lord.

Realize, every encounter you have with someone, is an opportunity for God to use you to plant a seed, water a seed, or see a seed actually blossom and bear fruit. So don’t miss the opportunities to speak truth in the lives of those God puts in your path. You never know whose life might be changed. Be obedient!
