Read Luke 19:11-27. I’m All In! Are You!
Jesus told a parable to address the fallacy of thinking that was amongst the Jews. They thought that the kingdom of God is going to appear at once. The people expected that the Messiah would establish his kingdom in Jerusalem and anticipated a very quick military victory over the Roman government. However, Jesus was speaking of a kingdom that’s battle was not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers and authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. Ephesians 6:12.
Luke 19:12 says that a man went away to be appointed King and then returned. Jesus is speaking of himself leaving the Earth and being appointed King, only to return at a later time when he would establish his heavenly kingdom. And those who rejected him as king would be destroyed for eternity in the Lake of Fire called Hell. We who are followers of Jesus are to be busy at work reaching lost souls for God’s kingdom. We are all given gifts and the Holy Spirit wants to use those gifts to reach others. Some will allow the Holy Spirit to use them and their gifts to reach others. But there will be many who will lay them aside because their hearts aren’t into Jesus but are more concerned for themselves. These will pay a costly price for not serving the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
God is building his kingdom and is doing so through the followers of Christ. He’s looking for those who want to be ALL IN on this calling. I’m all in! Are you? God, I surrender my life to you. Use me to reach lost souls for you!
