I’m Not A Quitter!
When Jesus was told that Herod wanted to kill him, they told Jesus he should leave Jerusalem where he was ministering. Jesus responded by saying, “Go tell that fox, I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow and the next day.”
The people of Jerusalem were notorious for killing Prophets. Despite all that, Jesus looked at Jerusalem with such love and compassion.
What can we learn from this? Where is your place of ministry? It’s wherever you are. It could be school, workplace, home, in the grocery store, etc etc. Jesus made it very clear that no matter what, he would not quit ministering to people with his love. He was very adamant about it. No one was going to stop him from getting the good news of the Gospel out to others. Nothing would stop him!!
So what stops you? When is it too tough to keep moving forward? Is the desire to be accepted, or the fear of rejection, or the embarrassment we face from others, keep us from being bold and courageous with our faith?
When do you shut down? When people ask you to pray in public? When asked to read scripture? When someone mocks you because you go to church? When someone calls you names? Jesus said, I’m pressing onward! I don’t care what anyone thinks. There’s work that has to be done and nothing’s going to stop message. God wants to give you a new love for him so you have a new boldness and new courage to press onward.
