2nd Samuel Chapter 8
Is There Something You Haven’t Dedicated To The Lord?
This chapter speaks of many of David’s victories. He defeated many cities and captured many valuable items from those he defeated. He even had gifts of appreciation given to him.
It says that all these valuable items, King David “dedicated to the Lord.”
To dedicate something to the Lord is a way of saying to the Lord that everything you have, you give to Him so that he can use it for his glory. That if at any time God would want to use any given items to help someone in need or to use it to further his kingdom, that you are willing to sacrifice such items for his glory. This may mean using the item to help someone, for example, using your car to help transport someone. It may even mean giving someone one of your possessions in order to help them with their need.
May we all be willing to say, daily, Lord, I dedicate all my relationships and my possessions to you to use for Your Glory. May this be my heart daily!
Everything we have is a blessing from God so we need to look at it as something that is his and he’s entrusting it into our hands. What have you not yet dedicated to the Lord?
