2nd Samuel Chapter 2
It Takes Time.
Now that King Saul is dead, God has chosen David to be king over israel. When David returns to his tribe in Judah, he is accepted as their new king.
However, the commander of Saul’s army, Abner, rose up and made Saul’s one son, not killed in battle, as the new king. 11 of the 12 tribes followed Saul’s son while One tribe followed David.
It could seem as though things were unfair when God chose David as king, but many followed another King instead.
It took several years and a lot of battles before David’s army overpowered the other kings army. Eventually David reigned as king over all Israel. But it took time.
As God calls you to a certain place, it may take time to see things blossom and develop. It may take time to gain the respect and support of those around you. Walk as Christ did and you’ll begin to see people drawn to you. Be patient. Love others. Stay humble. Love others. Stand firm in your faith. Love others. Work hard. Love others. Don’t compromise your faith. Love others. Persevere. And love others.
Eventually, you’ll see fruit begin to blossom and lives impacted for Christ. You’ll see people drawn to you and have a respect for you. Walk as Christ did and things will blossom. Remember, it takes time.
