2nd Samuel Chapter 15
What A Mess
You have King David’s son, Absalom, planning a conspiracy to overtake his dad as king. Over a long period of time Absalom began to win over the hearts of the people in Israel, including some of King David’s valued men.
In fear of losing his life, and the lives of his faithful followers, King David and his people fled from the danger of his son. King David prayed to God that the council and advice given to Absalom would be horrible advice in order to stop him of his evil.
Through all this mess, King David maintained respect for his people ensuring they were safe.
What a mess! We probably say that about our own lives at times. The situations we find ourselves in seem impossible and require making some decisions just to survive financially, physically, mentally, or even spiritually. We may feel the need to find a new job, or quit hanging around friends of bad influence, or feel the need to move because of unfortunate circumstances. Perhaps you have broken relationships in your family or most valued friends.
Don’t give up. God is with you. Keep persevering. Keep pursuing God and he will reveal himself in due time. Don’t lose respect for others as you make your decisions and move forward. Your mess is not too big for our God.
