2nd Peter Chapter 3
Jesus Will One Day Return. Are You Ready?
One of the reasons 2nd Peter was written was to stimulate the people to wholesome thinking. The whole chapter calls people to live a godly life. If our thinking is not wholesome or godly then we can’t expect our lives to be wholesome and godly.
The bottom line is, one day Jesus will return to gather the godly ones to a new Heaven and to a new Earth. Some question his return because it hasn’t happened yet but the Scripture says the Lord is slow to his return because he’s a patient God who loves us very much and doesn’t wish that any of us perish in hell but for all to turn to Christ in repentance of sins.
Yes, Jesus will one day return and it’ll be like a thief in the night. We don’t know when that will happen but when it does his judgment will fall upon the Earth and he will destroy everything: the Earth, the ungodly ones, and the heavens will be destroyed. His judgment will be fair and just and complete. Then there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth for all those who followed him in godliness. I want to be a part of that so God help me to have wholesome thinking so that I am found spotless and blameless in your sight, and in the sight of others.
