A Heart That Weeps For Others
Hazael asks Elisha if the King of Aram would recover from his sickness? Elisha says the King of Aram will recover from the sickness but he saw in his spirit that Hazael would eventually kill the King of Aram so he could become king in his place. Elisha saw that Hazael would do all kinds of evil to the people which caused Elisha to weep for the people.
When we see evil being done, does it bother us? Does it drive us to want to see change? Are we willing to stand up for the Injustice done to others?
For me, I find myself so angered by certain Injustices that hatredness flows from me. For example, some people purposely sit in the road to block traffic because of their agenda, resulting in others suffering. I’ve seen a man needing to get to the hospital because of his wife, a man on parole who could not be late for his appointment, or people needing to get to their jobs, but all being halted by those sitting in the street. As a result people needing to get to certain places seriously suffered consequences because of being late.
Lord, help me weep for Injustice. Help me have a righteous anger and not an anger that wants to seek revenge or not an anger that results in such hatredness.
