2nd Kings CHAPTER 7
Choose Trust Over Doubt.
Samaria was going through a famine and Elisha said to the king that tomorrow there will be food for them to eat. A royal officer doubted and questioned Elisha’s statement. Elijah said to the messenger, because of your doubt, you will see the food but you won’t eat it.
The next day, four lepers went to the camp of the Arameans, the enemy, to see if they had food they would share with them. When they arrived, they saw no one in their camp because God put fear into them, causing them to hear what they thought were an army of men, horses and chariots coming to attack them. So they fled immediately in fear leaving all their food, gold and silver, horses and chariots. The lepers told the king of Samaria and when they saw that their words were true and the people ran in haste to get to the food. As a result they ran over the royal officer who doubted Elisha and trampled him to death. God fulfilled his promise through Elisha by providing the food and the promise that the royal officer would see the miracle but not eat any of it.
When God says he’s going to do something then he’ll do it. We get to choose to trust him in faith or we can be quick to question him while complaining. Choosing to trust God is to have hope which results in blessings which is an encouragement to others. Choosing to doubt equals complaining resulting in misery and brings others down. Which person would you most want to be around.
Some people seem to love to doubt and complain. In fact they often despise and hate the people of faith
Let’s be a generation of people that chooses to walk by faith thus believing what God can do versus questioning and complaining over our life experiences as if nothing will ever get better.
TRUST = Hope = Blessings = Encouragement to Others.
DOUBT = Complaining = Misery = Bringing Others Down.
