2nd Chronicles Chapter 18
Am I That Stubborn?
King Ahab of Israel asked King Jehoshaphat of Judah to go into battle with him against Ramoth-Gilead. King Jehoshaphat said yes but let’s ask the Lord first. So King Ahab asked his 400 prophets what they should do and they all said go into battle and God will give you victory. But one prophet, who King Ahab hated, said no, don’t go into battle or you will be defeated. But King Ahab did not listen to the one prophet and went into battle. Not only was his army defeated but King Ahab also died in the battle. His stubborn heart got in the way of what God was trying to say.
Are we that stubborn? What is God saying to you? In your quiet alone time with God, what is he saying do you regarding your life and your future? Has he been speaking to you but you’re stubborn heart is not listening? It’s easy to be deceived by all the voices we hear surrounding us by our friends and family. Pushing that aside, get alone with God and seek his face only. Deep in your spirit, what is he saying to you? Listen to that voice even if it’s not what you were hoping to hear. Trust his voice to be the best voice for the best outcome versus trusting the voice you think will please you the most. Don’t be Stubborn!
