Second Chronicles Chapter 13
Trusting When The Odds Are Against Us.
King Abijah of Judah was at war with King Jeroboam of Israel. 400,000 men of Judah went up against 800,000 men of Israel. King Abijah confronts the people of Israel, reminding them how Jeroboam forsook the Lord by setting up golden idols to worship and rejecting God’s priests. He warned them not to go into battle against him because Judah has not forsaken the Lord and the Lord would deliver lsrael into his hands.
When Judah saw they were attacked on all sides, they cried out to God and went into battle.
As a result, Judah defeated Israel by killing 500,000 of the 800,000 warriors.
It says that Judah won because “they trusted in the Lord God.”
To have such faith and trust is what I desire. I’ve been trying to practice such faith when I face obstacles in life. My prayer has been, “God who else can I trust? Only you so I say thank you in advance for how you will intervene in my situation and bring victory in our lives.
May we all desire such faith on a consistent basis. Lord help us all. And thank you for all you do in and through our lives.
