2 Kings Chapter 9
Sin Is So Much More Destructive Than We Can Imagine!
A prophet was instructed to go to a captain of the army, Jehu, and to anoint him with oil and become king over Israel. He was to fulfill an earlier prophecy and destroy Ahab’s sons and wife.
After the prophet told Jehu these things, the other captains of the army were quick to announce him as king. Then he went and killed the evil sons of Ahab.
What we don’t understand is that sin is so evil that God can have nothing to do with it. He warned Ahab’s family over and over and over and over again to stop sinning but they never listened and so they faced the consequence of God’s destruction.
It’s the same with us today, God sees our sin and evil ways and warns us over and over and over and over again to stop sinning and turn from sin and turn to Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.
