2 Kings Chapter 16
It Appears We Are Worshiping The True God.
King Ahaz of Judah had the assistance of the King of Assyria to defeat his enemies. As a result, king Ahaz wanted to duplicate the altar the king of Assyria was using for his own Nation. The altar was an altar just like those used to worship the true God. However, King Ahaz was worshiping a false god while exhibiting a hardened heart away from the true God.
Today, Christianity is so watered down by false doctrines. Denominations are increasingly turning from Biblical Truths to cultural truths. This is a huge problem! Because they have a “Christian” name as their denomination it gives the appearance that they are Christians serving the one true God. But instead their hearts are hardened from the truth. 1st Timothy 4:1 says, that in “later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.”
This is happening today all under the disguise of the CHURCH as if their deceiving doctrines are in fact true versus deceptive.
May we ask ourselves if our lives are following the one true God or if we are living a life of deception. We convince ourselves that we’re following Christ when in fact we are compromising our faith for the things of this world. Yes, I go to church and teach Sunday school, but am I being a hypocrite?
God, help me be faithful to you and your word and not compromise my faith for the lies of this world and the lies even of the church being preached today.
