2 Corinthians Chapter 9
Are You Eager? Where’s Your Enthusiasm? Where’s Your Joy?
Paul kind of brags about how the Corinthians have been faithful to the Lord in serving others. They were eager to help and ready to give. They were enthusiastic to the point that it stirred others to put their faith into practice. Paul encourages generosity amongst God’s people and to do so cheerfully and joyfully.
I want to be faithful to the Lord while serving others. And I want to do it eagerly and with enthusiasm. I want to joyfully give to others knowing that my eagerness, enthusiasm, and joy we’ll stir others to want to do the same. It’ll also result in God receiving much Praise and Thanksgiving.
I would rather think of excuses why I should be doing something for the Lord verses thinking of excuses why I shouldn’t do something for the Lord.
If God gives a vision to an individual or church, people will be excited to jump on board if they see others excited about it. I have noticed that if the leadership is not excited about a vision then the congregation is less likely to get behind it.
May I embrace three important ingredients for serving the Lord: eagerness, enthusiasm, and joy.
