2 Corinthians Chapter 11
Is This GOSPEL Real?
Paul warns the Corinthians to be careful so as not to be led astray from their sincere and pure devotion to Christ. There are several false teachers boasting as if they are God’s special servants. They preach a gospel that opposes Christ as Savior and they lead people astray.
Paul says he can boast that his commitment to Christ is so strong that he has been through things worse than any of the false teachers.
He’s worked harder, he’s been in prison more. He’s been flogged more severely. He’s been close to death more than once: he received the 39 lashes five times, three times he was beaten with rods, once pelted with stones, three times was shipwrecked, spent a night and day in the open sea. He’s been in danger from rivers, bandits, fellow Jews and Gentiles, danger in the city and country, at sea, and from false believers. He’s been without sleep, without food, without clothes in the cold.
Paul believes that Jesus is the Savior of the world that those who reject Jesus will spend eternity in hell. He believes this so much that he’s willing to go through what most people would never go through. He’s willing to even die because he believes it so much.
Do I really believe this GOSPEL message is real? What more can I be doing to get the truth out? Am I willing to suffer and even die so this message can reach one lost soul?
