2 Corinthians Chapter 1
God’s Comfort = Hope = Patience = Endurance.
I like this chapter because it gives us hope when we’re going through troubles and distress.
God wants to comfort us in our troubles. Why?
So we can be a comfort to others. How?
By using the same comfort for them that God showed us.
We will all go through sufferings of some sort and it is God’s desire to provide comfort which comes through Christ. Because with his comfort also comes HOPE for the future. And because of our faith we are patient with God during our struggles and we endure through the pain because we know that God is in control.
Look at Paul, for example, because he and his coworkers experienced such great pressure far beyond what they could endure so that they dispared of life itself. They felt death was coming. Why did God let that happen? It says so that we rely on God and not ourselves. God will deliver us therefore let us put our hope in him. What are you going through today? Where is your hope? If it’s in self it would be easy to give up. Put your hope in God through Christ and then patiently endure knowing that in God’s timing there will be Deliverance.
