2 Chronicles Chapter 28
Help Me See More Clearly.
Ahaz became king of Judah at the age of 20 and reigned 16 years and he did evil in the sight of the Lord. He even worshiped the false idols and sacrificed some of his sons to them. God’s anger burned against King Ahaz and caused much destruction and casualties from his enemies. In fact 200,000 women were taken captive by their enemy. When the enemy was on their way to do more destruction throughout Judah, God sent a prophet to them saying, “You have experienced great victory only because Judah had forsaken the Lord, but you too have sinned against the Lord, so return all those you took captive or else God will be against you.”
Believe it or not, they returned the captives and even made sure they were well taken care of. The enemy knew they weren’t right with the Lord.
It seems easier to see the faults in others, versus seeing our own faults. May we be very careful on how we judge others and their sins lest we fall or have our sin exposed. Jesus said in Matthew 7:5 that before we try to remove the sin from others, make sure we have removed the sin from our life first.
God, I confess my sins before you. Forgive me, and help me encourage others in their struggles versus judging them. Amen.
