2 Chronicles Chapter 20
The Battle Is Not Yours, But Mine!
When King Jehoshaphat faced an army of many men from three nations he was afraid and immediately went before the Lord. He called All of Judah to seek the Lord with him and pray. King Jehoshaphat prayed a great prayer saying, “We are powerless…we don’t know what to do…our eyes are on you.”
God responded by saying, “Do not fear or be dismayed because this battle is not yours, but mine!”
He then commanded that Judah go line up for battle but a victory would come without them even having to fight. God caused an ambush against the enemy from another Nation and they fought each other and even turned on themselves so that all were killed. All Judah did was watch the battle without even fighting.
What situations are you currently facing? Let’s respond the five ways that Judah did:
1. Have you and all your family go before the Lord seeking and praying for his help.
2. Acknowledge to God: “We are powerless…we don’t know what to do…our eyes are on you.”
3. Begin to praise and thank the Lord for his coming answer or coming intervention.
4. Then watch what God does.
5. And rejoice with great rejoicing when God answers.
Always remember God’s words to us in our times of trouble: “This battle is not yours, but mine!”
