1st Thessalonians Chapter 5
What is God’s Will For Our Lives According To This Chapter?
Vs. 16 – Pray Continually! Nothing should be kept from the Lord. We should be praying to him for any and everything. Once we quit praying to him about anything, then we begin to try and take control our own lives rather than keeping it surrendered to him. He knows what’s best for us so may we continue to pray and listen to him.
Vs. 17 – Rejoice Always!
Vs. 18 – Give Thanks In All Circumstances.
These two sound ridiculous. Many circumstances are less than pleasant and sometimes very disheartening. Why would I rejoice or give thanks amongst such negative Life experiences? We rejoice and give thanks during these times as a way of showing to our Lord that we trust Him and acknowledge that He is still in control and we know that he will work things out for His good and for His purpose.
If we could keep this attitude of rejoicing and being thankful, we could be a bright shining light of HOPE for those around us. Lord help me to do just that versus whining and complaining, whining and complaining, and whining and complaining.
Thank you that you are in control. May I rejoice and trust you always.
