1st Thessalonians Chapter 4
Do it More and More!
Paul gives instructions on how to please God and urges the people to do it “more and more.” As I think about it, to do it “more and more” is pretty good advice. To actually do anything “more and more” requires one to be continually thinking about it. Because when we quit thinking about it, then we lose the drive to do it, resulting in a life that ends up going backwards with one’s faith and faith practices.
Think about it: people set goals, for example, to exercise and some make it such a priority that they make it happen. But when they allow their minds to go on to something else, then they lose the drive and motivation to keep pressing forward with exercising. This is true with anything.
So ask yourself this question: are you driven in your faith walk:
1. To be holy “more and more?
2. To be in the word daily (more and more)?
3. To be in Church Fellowship, “more and more”?
Let’s take heed of Paul’s advice to do it “More And More”! Otherwise we’ll lose focus and become sidetracked with other things and will eventually find our faith walk deteriorating. How are you doing? I’d love to know.
