1st Samuel Chapter 6
Before A Holy God, Who Can Stand?
The Philistines rejoiced when they took the Ark of God from the Israelites, only to later regret it when God brought tumors and death upon them.
After 7 months of disaster, the Philistines returned the Ark of God on a new cart with a guilt offering pulled by two young cows. When the Israelites saw the Ark of God they rejoiced and were so excited to have it back. But in their excitement they opened the Ark of God to look inside knowing that that’s where God resided and no one was permitted to open it. So when they did, 50,000 Israelites died. Which of us unholy people can stand before a holy God and live? No one. May we never get so lax in our walk with Christ that we assume he won’t hold us accountable for bad decisions and behaviors. It’s because of our relationship with Christ that we are able to stand before a holy God. If you have been LAX in your walk with Christ, go before him today with a repentive heart and ask for forgiveness and he will lovingly forgive and cleanse you and make you whole. Then follow Him daily!
